Stop Making Those Silly Business Mistakes

I am an absolute shopaholic. I spend a lot of time patronizing literally every type of business under the sun. As an avid consumer, I believe that I have advice that I can give businesses that can help them become more successful and serve there customers better. Even though I am the only one working on this blog, much of what I write comes from endless conversations with friends and family members who have experienced frustrations when patronizing businesses, big and small. My name is Alice Stark and I hope you enjoy the journey that we will be going on together!

Have You Ever Considered Going With A Fixer-Upper?

Business Blog

If you are in the market for a new house then you might be in the middle of trying to decide just what type of house you would like to buy. While the thought of finding the perfect home that's ready to move in may seem wonderful, there is always the chance that you aren't going to find something that gives you everything you want in a style that suits your exact taste. You may want to consider finding a fixer-upper to buy. Here are some of the many benefits of choosing to go with a fixer-upper:

You can save money on the price of the house

When you buy a house that's a fixer-upper you can usually find a great deal. You can get a house that has plenty of potential, but that needs a bit of fixing up for a price that is well within your budget. If you were to try to find a house just like that one that is move-in ready then you may not even be able to afford it at all. This means once you fix the house up you will be in one that would have been an unattainable dream before.

You can earn instant equity

Since you will be able to buy a fixer-upper for a much better price than if the home needed no work, you will be able to put some money into it doing the repairs and end up with a house that is worth a lot more when you are done with everything. This is the reason why so many people are flipping homes; they know they can put a little money into them and then turn around and sell them for large profits.

You will end up with a house that suits your own taste

When you fix a house up on your own, you will be able to use materials that match your own style. When you buy a house that's move-in ready, you can end up living with carpet that has a color to it you can't stand but it doesn't seem reasonable to have it replaced since it is fairly new.

You may be able to do a lot of the work yourself

If the work that needs to be done is minimal and it is something that doesn't necessarily require the workings of a professional, then you may be able to do it all yourself. This can include things like painting, fixing broken shelves, replacing sink faucets and anything else you can take care of on your own.

You can Hire a construction worker to help with the things you can't do yourself

If there are some things that you can't do yourself, such as fix the sidewalk, repair a missing section of the driveway, put in a fence, redo your fireplace, or anything else that you feel is beyond your capabilities, then you can find construction workers for hire who will come to your home and take care of those things for you. This lets you know they are being taken care of by a professional with the knowledge and tools to get the job done right.
